MonthlyInfo is fairly simple today, but in its infancy (i.e. last summer) it was simpler still. One feature users asked for early and often was the ability to record notes along with dates in their history.
Since this feature was added, MonthlyInfo users have collectively recorded over 120,000 words. Enter Wordle, a fantastic word cloud generator made by Jonathan Feinberg. Below is a cloud of the top 200 words used in MonthlyInfo notes. Check out the full version, and take comfort in the fact that you are not alone!

You probably receive email/SMS reminders about your period or ovulation, but one great way to stay on top of your health is to set up a monthly self breast exam reminder, too.
According to Wikipedia, women should give themselves breast exams “at the same stage of their period every month to minimize changes due to the menstrual cycle. The recommended time is just after the end of the last period when the breasts are least likely to be swollen and tender.”
To encourage this very important routine, I’ve added an easy way to create a self breast exam reminder: just go to Reminders and click the ready-made reminder link.
There are some new features popping up and I thought I’d list them here for the curious:
- SMS reminders: You can now choose to send your reminders through mobile text messages in addition to email
- Cycle duration and phase charts: Once you’ve entered a few dates into your history, you will see a graph of your cycle durations and an indicator of your current cycle phase
- New full calendar view
- New contact page

Thank you so much for your incredible support through all the server troubles! With the help of your generous donations, I have moved MonthlyInfo to a new home which is big enough to accomodate you all and send your many, many reminder emails. If you’d like to support the continuation of this hosting, any help you can give is (as always) very much appreciated. I have also moved the site from its old domain – mon.thly.info – to MonthlyInfo.com in hopes that you have an easier time typing it!
